How Aid & Attendance Can Make Senior Living More Affordable
At Kingston Residence of Santa Fe, we proudly support veterans and their spouses by helping them access the benefits they’ve earned. Through the American Veterans Aid & Attendance Offerings program, we guide eligible people toward financial support for senior care, including assisted living and memory care.
Aid & Attendance is a tax-free benefit for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses to help cover care costs. Eligible individuals can apply through Veteran Affairs (VA) and use the benefit toward their care.

Who Qualifies for This Program?
To qualify for Aid & Attendance, you must:
- Have served at least 90 days of active duty, with one day during time of war.
- Be at least 65+ or live with a disability.
- Have a discharge status other than “dishonorable.”
To qualify, surviving spouses must have been living with the veteran at the time of their death and must remain unmarried when applying. Eligibility also considers liquid assets, including 401(k)s, stocks, and savings.

- Proof of financial income and assets
- Marriage certificate or death certificate (if applicable for surviving spouses)
